I’m not sure if counselling or psychotherapy is for me?
I offer a free 15 minute consultation over the phone to help you work out if counselling or psychotherapy is for you. I can be contacted on 0411848137 to book an appointment.
What happens in the first session?
In the first session we will have a conversation about what is bothering you and I will ask you some questions to better help me understand your current concerns.
Can I see you without going to my doctor?
Yes, you can but without a referral from your doctor you will not be able to claim a rebate from Medicare.
I'm a frontline worker and would like clinical supervsion can you do this?
Yes, I have been providing clinical and reflective supervision for many years to many allied health professionals and frontline workers.
How long is the session for?
A standard session is 50 minutes long.
How much is a session?
A 50 minute session costs $250 for an online session.
How many sessions will I need?
The therapeutic process is different for everyone so it will depend on your unique circumstances. Generally the more regular the therapy is, say once a week or fortnight, the greater progress is achieved at a faster rate.
Can I get any rebates for my sessions?
If you access a mental health care plan from your doctor you will receive a rebate from Medicare for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. Your doctor will write you a plan and you will need to give that to me to get your rebate. You may also be able get a rebate from your health insurance but not both at the same time.
So you offer online psychotherapy & Counselling?
Yes, I do offer online therapy via zoom. It is a good time saving option and allows a bit more flexibility. Currently rebates are provided by Medicare and some health insurance schemes for online therapy but may be limited.
What are the cancellation fees?
If you need to cancel your session I require 24 hours notices otherwise you will be charged the full session fee.
